A Visit to the Glass Beach in California
Glass Beach locates in Fort Bragg, California, US. It is near to a national park–MacKerricher State Park in the local area. It is a unique beach, that you cannot see anywhere else.
After World War II, the beach became the local garbage dumping site. People threw in all kinds of rubbish, which of course included lots of glass. 20 years later, local officials established a ban on dumping garbage onto the beach. However, there are already a lot of broken glasses in the junk in the sea. Now, Mother Nature has reclaimed this beach. After years of grinding in the sea and polished by the pounding wave action, these broken glasses are no longer look like glass. They become smooth and transparent, beautifully laying across the entire beach.
In recent years Glass Beach has turned into a popular tourist destination, with large number of people traveling there to see millions of pieces of jewel-like glasses sparkling in the sun.
