Azur et Asmar: The Princes’ Quest

Submitted by admin on Monday, 18 May 2009No Comment

This 2006 French animated fairytale fantasy feature film was written and directed by Michel Ocelot, sound starring Cyril Mourali, Karim M’Riba, and Hiam Abbass.
It is 3D computer animation, but has an atypical employment of this medium with two-dimensional, painted backgrounds and non-photorealistic rendering.
The story was inspired by the folklore and decorative art of North Africa and the Middle East, and with an increased degree of characterisation relative to writer and director’s previous works which pushes it over into the genre of fairytale fantasy. And there are a lot of talk on race, religion, and culture.
It has the DNA of a captivating bedtime story.
