Christmas Markets

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 9 December 2009No Comment

Head to Oxford Castle for the city’s first annual Christmas Market, selling hadmade products, mulled wine and seasonal food, plus carols from local brass bands. (10-20 December, 2009.)
Further north, Glasgow Christmas market is expecting a roaring trade with stalls from all over the world (Until December 24th, 2009.), or look to Wales for the unusually themed Caerphilly Medieval Market. (12-13 December, 2009.)
In London, Hyde Park is home to a traditional German market; expect chilled Bavarian beer, roasted nuts, a hog roast and carols by candlelight. (Until January 3rd, 2010.)
For those who are after gifts with a socially conscious slant, there’s the Edinburgh Ethical Christmas Fair. (12-20 December, 2009.)
Wander between stalls from local retailers, the One World Shop, Earth Squared and Kenyan producers. A traditional green Santa will also be on hand to provide festive cheer.
