Dyrham Park
The Dyrham Park is a baroque mansion in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in Gloucestershire. The park has been taken over by the National Trust from the Government ever since 1961. Now, it is open to the public daily throughout the year.
In the middle of the park, sits the fine William and Mary house, which is set in 265 acres of ancient deerpark. It was built between 1691 and 1702 for William Blathwayt. All the rooms were furnished by Blathwayt in the Dutch style and have been changed little ever since then. It is well known for its great collection including Dutch decorative arts and for 18th-century additions, such as furniture by Gillow and Linnell. The house, with its garden, house and garden are open from March to December.
