Five Reasons to Visit Swansea

You will enjoy the view of the city, the coast and the countryside in one neat package in Swansea. It is great for a day visit, even better if you have more time to explore the following five places.

1. National Waterfront Museum
Using graphics and interactive displays, the National Waterfront museum tells the story of industry and innovation in Wales over the past 300 years. from the industrial revolution to the area’s rich maritime heritage, everything is presented in an engaging, modern way, which brings history to your fingertips.

2. Gower Peninsula
For awe-inspiring countryside head to Gower, Swansea’s Area of Outstanding Beauty, the first place in Britain to gain the accolade. Stunning surroundings are guaranteed with more than 50 unspoilt beaches, coves and bays. For the more adventurous, the area also boasts some of the best surf spots in the UK.

3. LC Water Park and Leisure Complex
Refurnished in 2008, Swansea’s Leisure Complex prides itself on being one of the largest health and fitness areas in Wales. An indoor waterpark, 30ft climbing wall, the Boardrider wave machine and the Master Blaster roller coaster-style ride are just part of the leisure centre, offering hours of entertainment.

4. Dylan Thomas Centra
As you would expect, Swansea is home to the Dylan Thomas Centre, in honour of the city’s famous literary son. Learn everything about his life, works and inspirations. The annual Dylan Thomas Festival features readings, talks, theatre, music, art, film and celebrity guests.

5. Plantasia
You can find a lot of tropical plants, exotic fruits, fish and insects, reptiles and even monkeys. Plantasia brings together Tamarin monkeys, chameleons, bearded dragons and Burmese pythons under one tropical roof.
