How To Read Food Labels‏

Submitted by admin on Friday, 5 February 2010No Comment

If you are among the 88% of people who find food labels confusing, this is the right guide, with advice from the FSA, for you to better understand the small print.
The traffic light color system on the feont of food ans drink labels will help make it much easier for one to eat healthily. The different colored circles–red, amber and green, indicate if the food has high, medium or low amount of fat, saturated fat, sugars and salt, as well as indicating how many grams of each are in a typical serving.
So, if you see a red circle on the label, you’ll know the food is high in something you should be cutting down on; while amber means that it is balanced; and green means that is low in that ingredient. The more green lights, the healthier the choice!
