Jacket or Baked Potato

Submitted by admin on Thursday, 11 September 2008One Comment

Jacket or Baked Potato has become one of the most popular dishes on earth. I first have the Jacket Potato when I got into UK. In my opinion, it’s probably one of the most simple but delicious dishes that ever came out of the kitchen.
Are you interested in learning to make it by yourself? It’s not too hard, just follow the instructions below:
First, select a large potato for baking. Then, take a sharp-pointed instrument such as a skewer, and gently prick the surface of the potato.
For the oven users, turned on the oven to about 200°C / Gas Mark 6. Brush on a little bit of melted butter or vegetable oil. Wrap the potatoes in oven foil. Then place them on a baking dish in the oven, and leave them for one to two hours. While for the microwave users, put the potato on a microwave-proof dish, put the microwave on to full power, and cook the potatoes for 8 to 10 minutes each.
The fun bit about Jaket Potato is that any jacket potato must be filled; otherwise it wouldn’t be a jacket potato. Actually anything can be used as the filling, such as Cottage cheese, Chilli Con Carne, Coleslaw, mayonnaise, etc. Personal choice is the magic of the jacket potato. You can be adventurous and eat it with whatever you want. But anyway, remember, you are going to have to eat the end product. Once you have chosen the filling, simply split the potato into two lengthways; spread a little butter over the insides of the potato, and pour the filling over the top. An alternative method is to scoop out the potato from the skin, and mash it up with the filling, before scooping it back in.
Yummy!!!

He confesses that the oven is probably not going to make you wealthy overnight. This is being done in Brush worldwide. Finding the Jacket Potato is what we’re here to discuss.
