Lyford Gorge

Submitted by admin on Saturday, 30 May 2009No Comment

Lydford Gorge is situated in the village of Lydford near Oakhampton. It has a spectacular 30-metre waterfall—the thunderous Whitelady, which is the deepest gorge in the South West, UK.
The experience of walking in the gorge is strenuous. The place is extremely rugged, with uneven surfaces, slippery paths and vertical drops. There is a lush oak woodland, which is about 3 miles long. The woods to the River Lyd is filled with abundant wildlife and wild flowers.
On your trip to Dartmoor national park, Lydford Gorge is definitely a place that worth visiting.
