My Blueberry Nights (蓝莓之夜)
“How do you say goodbye to someone you can’t imagine living without? Somebody just don’t, and just walk away.” It’s one of the lines in the movie of My Blueberry Nights.
I just watched it. It’s the very first movie directed by the famous Chinese director Kar Wai Wong in a foreign language, released in 2007. I’ll say it’s a quite nice try.
The plot is about a young woman takes a soul-searching journey across the US to resolve her questions about love while encountering a series of offbeat characters along the way. There are different kinds of love, between husband and wife, between father and daughter, across life and death.
I do love the boy from Manchester, who runs a Café in New York. He is soooo sweet. He keeps all the keys the customers left in his place. He doesn’t want to throw them away as once they get rid of the keys, those doors can never be opened and he doesn’t think it’s his decision to make.
The pace of the movie is quite slow, very gentle.
There is much philosophy in it, but not hard to understand at all. Some lines of the actress can really stimulate some deep thoughts of you. It’s quite classical style of Kar Wai Wong. Recommended for watching!!!
