Sixixis Cityscape Hangers
Have you ever heard about the Sixixis workshop?
It is a group of English designers exploring the creative possibilities of bent wood in playful products ranging from chairs to coat-hangers. With great passions for art, the brand creates unique and exciting pieces using local unseasoned timber. As an artist uses a pencil, Sixixis steam bend wood to express and encapsulate ideas and ways of thinking into solid objects.
It’s a pity that after three successful years the three founders of Sixixis: Tom, Chris and Charlie are now pursuing interests and ventures independently. However, there are some great masterpiece of this brand that should be remembered by the fans of art and design. Cite the set of cityscape hangers from Sixixis for example. They are my personal favorites.
The coat hangers are made from hard wearing multi-laminated Birch ply. They are laser-cut, then hand finished and varnished. They are illustrated with the five major fashion capitals of the world: London, Paris, Tokyo, New York, and Milan. Aren’t they fabulous? If you are a crazy fan for designing with 250 pounds burning in your pocket and nowhere to hang your coat, you might be interested in considering buying yourself a set of these fabulous coat hangers.
