Submitted by admin on Sunday, 21 December 2008No Comment

The Southampton Christmas Market (Southampton Weihnachtsmarkt 2008) returns to the Southampton town centre for a fifth year.
This great festive institution is directly outside the principal entrance to West Quay Shopping Centre in the pedestrian sector of Bar Street, open daily from November 22nd to December 23rd, from 10.00am to 6.30pm (with late night opening every Thursday in December). This time, it is much bigger and better than ever before.
The ‘Grand Opening’ was held by the Sherrif of Southampton, Cllr Elizabeth Mizon at 11.00am on Saturday 22 November, featuring a performance from a traditional German Band as well as a special appearance from the Town Crier, John Melody.
You can find a traditional German array of gift stalls and food sellers, a huge range of incredible Christmas gifts, traditional German festive cheer in glasses, bottles and of course on plates as well as festive delicacies and plenty of entertainment for the whole family can be found in the market.
Check it out and make the most of this distinctive fun shopping experience to lighten the festive shopping chores!
