Travel to Okinawa
Being the southernmost prefecture of Japan, Okinawa refers to a chain of subtropical islands that has long been one of the top travel destinations for Japanese tourists. Now the secret is out, and visitors from across the entire world are expploring the delights of this paradise in the Pacific.
The big draw of Okinawa is its sandy beaches, warm weather as well as clear waters. The reef breaks are quite popular with experienced sufers, while snorkelers and scuba divers can experience the thrill of swimming with diverse sea life, ranging from clownfish to manta rays.
For the ones that prefer to spend their own time on the fair-ways, Okinawa has many excellent golf courses, such as the Atta Terrace Golf Resort. Set in the Onnadake highlands, the challenging 18-hole course overlooks the East China Sea. The Kise Country Club has both an Ocean Course and a Woods Course, while the stunning Southern Links Golf Course overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
A wide range of accommodation is available, including world-class hotels, such as the new Hoshinoya Okinawa on the small, lovely island of Taketomi, which is closer to Taiwan than Okinawa Island.
