Weston-super-Mare
The seaside resort town of Weston-super-Mare is a pretty civil parish in North Somerset, England. It’s located on the Bristol Channel, 29 km south west of Bristol, spanning the coast between the bounding high ground of Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. Usually, people will write the name of the town as “Weston-Super-Mare”. However it is incorrect, as the middle word of “super” should always be written in lower case.
Due to the mainly flat landscape, the tidal rise and fall in the Severn Estuary and Bristol Channel can be as great as 15 m. Its long sandy beach attracts large population of tourists and makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the south UK. You can actually see a lot of holes along the entire sandy beach, which are made by various kinds of shellfish, crab and so on. Besides, a number of arts venues are held annually in the town.
You can get there from any place by train. Though direct rail lines to Weston-super-Mare is not a lot daily, usually, you can get to Bristol first and take a connecting train there conveniently. It’ll take around 40 to 50 minutes trip to travel from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare. And the view along your trip will be quite nice as you travel through several lovely little town.
