Yorkshire Wheel

Submitted by admin on Friday, 26 September 2008No Comment

If you’ve ever been to the city of York or go by the city on a train on your way to somewhere else, you must have notice the big observation ferries-wheel next to the train station. It’s one of my favorite spot scenes in the city of York. It’s called the Yorkshire Wheel, but before its relocation, it was previously known as The Manchester Wheel.
It was built by World Tourist Attractions and first opened in April 2006, turning into a critic part of the National Railway Museum. There are 42 pods in total on the wheel and each of them can hold up to 8 people. As the wheel riders soar 60 meters into the sky, you can enjoy stunning bird’s-eye views across York’s skyline as well as its surrounding countryside on the ride. It lasts about 13 minutes and every time the wheel will take riders round 3 times. So, there should enough time for you to take some photographs.
